Introduction Samidare (五月雨), sometimes pronounced "Satsuki Ame", is a set of 6 Kata taught to advanced students emphasizing training the mind. Kuroda Sensei always referred to this set of kata as Satsuki no Ame. In Japanese, both names mean the same: Spring rains, or more literally May rains. Samidare is the Chinese pronunciation, while Satsuki Ame is the Japanese pronunciation of the same Kanji characters.
